... and more importantly, a social 'Go' tournament (a game Duane and I play). Pictured here are some guests of honour: 2 of these Koreans placed 2nd and 3rd in the European Go championships. So I presume they are professional players. (In Korea, this has the same recognition as a professional sport player).
In the tournament I played them both. This was a great honour! The great thing about Go (cf Chess) is that it has a handicapping system - so unmatched players, even of wildly different levels of ability, can play an even game. I narrowly won one of the games and just lost the other - so it must have been about right.
For Go players out there: They had 3 stones on a 9x9 board, plus I had a few handicap points! And they still managed to tear me apart.
