Great spot too - away from the biggest stages, and within 2 minutes walk of the vegetarian food tents! |

Sziget 2005 004 11-Aug-2005 5:55pm It didn't take Duane long to discover the "logical games tent", which was open for anyone to come and play games. They also held a couple of events, e.g. here: a simultaneous chess tournament (one chess master playing 14 games at once). |

Sziget 2005 006 11-Aug-2005 6:23pm ... and more importantly, a social 'Go' tournament (a game Duane and I play). Pictured here are some guests of honour: 2 of these Koreans placed 2nd and 3rd in the European Go championships. So I presume they are professional players. (In Korea, this has the same recognition as a professional sport player). In the tournament I played them both. This was a great honour! The great thing about Go (cf Chess) is that it has a handicapping system - so unmatched players, even of wildly different levels of ability, can play an even game. I narrowly won one of the games and just lost the other - so it must have been about right. For Go players out there: They had 3 stones on a 9x9 board, plus I had a few handicap points! And they still managed to tear me apart. |

Sziget 2005 007 11-Aug-2005 6:37pm Random street-busking type performers were scatter around the island. These were "Italian clowns" in a crazy Zepplin device, where the driver was drinking and driving / tipping / rising / diving / honking etc. the smoking contraption. Where do I get one!? |

I think the camera must have a night mode that superimposes multiple images - with & without flash. |
